With no more space available in the garden city, the Foyer Rémois housing organisation completed its urban plan by financing a school building, located along the boulevard, for the City of Reims. Created by Max Sainsaulieu, the architect of the Carnegie library, the school maintained a resolutely modern Regionalist style. It opened in 1924 and housed 13 classes (600 children). A second building in the north, identical to the first, was created in 1929 in order to double its capacity due to the growing population.
